The ‘No-Bowl’ Fruit Salad

Fruit salad without a bowl is pretty cool, don’t you think?
It’s fun and creative, and there’s no washing dishes after. I love the sound of that.
But let’s start at the beginning.
Can someone please explain why we’re talking about fruit salads in a post in February? Helloooo?? Shouldn’t we be discussing hot winter dishes? Something more, hmmm, steamy?
Welcome to a very summery post indeed, smack in the dead of winter!
I’ll leave the winter treats for another post. Today I’m craving summer. Where are you sweet July? Please come soon, beloved June!
Our post today is a celebration of summer, embodied in this super fresh, colorful fruit salad you see in the picture, bursting with flavor and vitamins!
We’re being very environmental today. Our bowls are the fruit themselves! When we’re done with our salad, we can toss the empty ‘bowls’ into the compost!
This fruity feast will come together in a matter of minutes.
First, you cut up a few fresh fruits (of your choice) into a container.
Then you grab any large fleshy fruit such as orange, grapefruit, melon, cantaloupe or watermelon - to be used as your bowls.
You cut it into two halves, scoop the flesh out and add it to the fruit salad and mix gently. Then you fill the hollowed halves with the fruit salad. That’s it. I promised it would be simple.
Since pictures are worth a thousand words, I will stop chatting now and let you enjoy the different variations of this fruity feast.

Whichever way you go with the no-bowl fruit salad, it’s always a hit.
You like fruity desserts? I’m pretty sure you’ll love our double-layered fruit pudding too!
Wishing you a wonderful, fruitful weekend,
